Mädchen und Junge lernen Automatisierungsgrundlagen bei der IBS Kids-Akademie

In our 5-day supervised holiday camp, children from 8-14 years of age are taught the use of automation technology in a playful way. With the learning media Fischertechnik, the robot Dobot as well as a 3D printer, there will be no boredom this week! In addition to teaching technical subjects, the creativity of the children is stimulated and their motor skills in dealing with different building materials are trained. In addition to the method of the Fischertechnik modular system, which has proven its worth from our technical training, the children will gain an insight into the processes and structures that underlie robotics by independently programming the robot Dobot Magician, thereby promoting their logical thinking. In addition, we offer the opportunity to produce a product designed by the children themselves on our 3D printer. The focus is on the fun of trying things out - including the sense of achievement. The children do not need any previous knowledge, the only requirement is fun in fiddling around and trying things out  .

We would like to pass on our many years of experience and our acquired knowledge to you. You will find the right offer with us in the form of topic-related basic courses or in knowledge packages individually tailored to your user cases. The course programme is designed for learning groups of 3 or more people and usually takes place in our course rooms in Karlsruhe. Other training locations or the number of participants can be arranged individually.

 

Training course Simulation

Robot planning and simulation

  • Basic course Siemens/Tecnomatix Process Designer V14.1 (40 h)

Entry into the planning and documentation software for the development and management of production processes according to the Volkswagen supplier handbook, the Audi AG modelling guideline or the BMW process planning guideline. The aim of this course is, in addition to learning the basic functions, to set up a project environment with the necessary alternatives according to the requirements of the client. No special previous knowledge is required.

  • Basic course Siemens/Tecnomatix Process Simulate V14.1 (40 h)

Compressed practical knowledge from our daily application for the simulation of robot systems. The basic functions of the programme are explained by experienced simulators. On the basis of a real practical environment (Audi/VW/BMW), the users learn to apply their fresh knowledge through exercises carried out in parallel. After the course they are able to set up a robot layout and to realistically simulate and verify different applications such as spot welding, gluing and handling tasks. Initial experience with CAD software is helpful, but not a prerequisite.

  • Offline programming with Processs Simulate (24 h)

Creation of downloadable offline programs according to VW/Audi/Porsche standard. Optionally, the controller is used by ABB, KUKA-VKRC or Fanuc RJ. In addition to the installation of the teach pendant and the RCS module, the creation of collision-free paths for the work and service programs is learned, the movement and process parameters are set and the download is carried out. As a supplement, theoretical knowledge of robot calibration, the import of the programs into the real robot and the creation of the transfer protocols is taught. Prerequisite for the participation is a basic knowledge of the operation of Process Simulate according to our offered basic course.

  • Administration Siemens/Tecnomatix (individuelle Unterstützung)

We offer support in setting up a client/server installation for Process Designer/Process Simulate according to the standards of the OEM (Volkswagen/Audi/BMW). In addition, you will receive valuable expert knowledge on data and user administration, assignment of rights and the specific software functions in order to complete an OEM project in accordance with the required guidelines.

Robot Practice

  • Introduction to robot operation (16 h)

Using the IBS-TeachCell and the Kawasaki RS005N robot, you will learn how to commission and operate the robot. The creation of simple robot programmes in the teach procedure and with the help of the KIDE programming platform will also be taught by our instructor. Besides basic technical understanding, no further previous knowledge is required.

  • Construction site commissioning of industrial robots (individual support)

We transfer our know-how to the construction site. We show how robots are calibrated. We explain how to import the OLP programs for the robots of KUKA VKRC and Fanuc RJ according to VW/Audi/Porsche standards. On request, we offer assistance in preparing the necessary handover protocols to the operator after successful commissioning of the robots.

Robot Knowledge

  • Online training course "Insight industrial robots" (20 h)...starting July 2020!

All about industrial robots. In addition to a brief historical review, the online course deals with the definition, classification and application of industrial robots. The required hardware is presented and the functionality of the control system is explained. A further topic area deals with the structure and function of various robot tools. The methodical procedure for plant planning is shown and the most important points for maintaining robot safety are explained. The concluding module deals with networking and sensor technology, a prerequisite for the implementation of Industry 4.0. Learning comfortably from the office or from home The training content is structured into topic-related modules and manageable learning units. This allows you to decide for yourself when or where you want to conduct the training. With a knowledge test to determine your learning progress and a certificate after successful completion of the course.

  • Structural design of robot grippers (24 h)

From design to the finished application: selection of purchased parts, geometric design and the required payload calculation for the robot application. All the tricks and knacks for the design of robot tools in line with requirements. For designers with previous knowledge of CAD (CATIA V5).

  • 2D layout design with Bentley Microstation V8 (40 h)

With this software, factory planners document their automated (robot) system with millimetre accuracy. They learn the basic functions of the user program and how to use them professionally in accordance with OEM guidelines. After the course, you will be able to derive a plant layout from the robot simulation with the aid of library components or to create a planning layout yourself with all necessary components and labels. For newcomers without previous knowledge.

Training course Construction and Knowledge

CAD-Software

  • CATIA V5 R26 – Basic training 2D-Drafting (16 h)
The creation of 2D drawings with the CATIA user software is taught in this course. This includes the presentation of the user interface with its functionalities, the creation of views and drawing frames as well as dimensioning and text creation. The accompanying exercises consolidate the acquired knowledge. No previous knowledge required.
 
  • CATIA V5 R26 – Basic training 3D (40h)
The parts and assembly design for newcomers and CAD novices. Besides the explanation of the user interface and the basic functions, the creation of basic geometries is learned. The basics of creating and modifying components (Parts-Design) as well as the creation and administration of assemblies (Assembly-Design) are taught by means of exercises. After the course, users will be able to create professional drafts of their design ideas. No previous knowledge is required.
 
  • CATIA V5 R26 – Administration (8 h)
Two speakers with practical experience (IT/users) share the task of transferring knowledge about CATIA administration from the field. The content of the course is the setting up of the CATIA environment, the targeted application of the setting options and topics such as storage methods and team collaboration. The target group for this course are key users and admin staff.
 
  • Autodesk Inventor – Basic training 3D/2D (40 h)
Learn the basics of mechanical design with the Inventor CAD software. Due to the software architecture, the generated models can also be influenced in a targeted manner later on by changing the input variables. By associatively linking the models with the 2D drawings, all changes to the original models are automatically updated in the drawing - learn how to use this advantage for your application. You start with the 3D modelling of individual parts, create solids, set elements such as holes and chamfers and receive an introduction to sheet metal design. Further emphasis is placed on learning the basics of assembly design such as setting relationships/dependencies and placing standard components from the content centre. In the third part you will deal with the derivation of assemblies and components into a 2D drawing including the addition of dimensions, annotations and parts lists. No previous knowledge is required for this course.
 
  • Autodesk Inventor – Construction methods(24 h)
Use the various possibilities of Inventor and learn the parameterised design of intelligent assemblies. Content of this course is the presentation of different methods such as skeleton modelling, which are e.g. very suitable for the creation of frames from profile elements. You will learn a further method for the creation of assemblies from a single file by derivation. The focus of the course, however, is on the creation of cross-assembly control of geometries by means of parameterisation, so that the full potential of the software can be used. A further component is the creation of variants by controlled elements. This course builds on our Inventor basic training, the knowledge imparted there is a prerequisite for participation.
 
Construction practice
 
  • Construction Methodology (ab 16 h)
This course teaches proven methods for an effective approach to finding solutions or implementing typical constructive problems. The process steps of concept creation, design, selection of purchased parts and any necessary calculations are shown in order to obtain a technically and economically sound solution. It is aimed on the one hand at project managers who would like to have a detailed insight into the course of the process, and on the other hand at product designers for further training and to reach the next level. Depending on the desired content, this offer can be extended. Prerequisite for participation is basic CAD knowledge (CATIA V5).
 
  • Design of kinematic key components (8 h)
Using the design software CATIA V5, the speaker will convey the design and calculation of essential components for plant automation. The topics slides, clamps or toggle lever mechanics are optionally on the agenda. The explanations are accompanied by intensive exercises for the learners. Basic CATIA V5 knowledge is a prerequisite for participation.
 
  • Production-oriented design (16 h)
The experienced speaker imparts valuable knowledge from his many years of activity in quality assurance. He focuses on the technically and economically optimised design of assemblies and the appropriate selection of materials. Not only newcomers to design benefit from this, but all those who want to design their solutions a little better. Initial prior knowledge in the design of assemblies is advantageous.
Training course Education and Teaching
  • Basics of technical drawing (24 h)

Technical drawing according to DIN - the basics for representation, dimensioning and marking (surface details) of workpieces and components are taught in this course. Accompanied by numerous exercises with paper and pencil, the ability to create technical drawings is acquired.

  • Materials science and construction (16 h)

Basic knowledge of material properties is essential in order to use the right materials for construction solutions that are suitable for the application. Knowledge of possible tempering processes and their influence on the material properties is just as much a part of this as their machining behaviour. The topic, which at first glance appears somewhat dry, is brought closer to the user by means of practical examples and offers decision-making aids in the selection of a suitable material.

  • Form and position tolerances (16 h)

For functional or manufacturing reasons, geometric tolerances must be specified for a component. Used sparingly in the right place, they help to keep manufacturing costs low. The basics for their use and the meaning of their symbolism is the scope of this course.

  • Basics Pneumatics (8 h)

This course is aimed at pneumatics beginners. After an introductory theory module, the knowledge is consolidated by working through exercises. The circuits are sketched, built up with the corresponding hardware components and tested. The analytical approach is also encouraged, especially when troubleshooting the circuits. Previous knowledge is not required.

  • Intensive Course Exam Preparation Technical Product Designer (80 h)

Preparation for the IHK intermediate or final examination with exam-relevant topic blocks and sufficient exercises. It is also possible to train with the design software PTC Creo.

Training courses for more efficiency in the office
  • Working in Microsoft Office 365 (8 h)

An introduction to the modern working methods and possibilities of Office 365: How do I work with Office 365? Which apps are advantageous for my daily work? How do I set up my workplace? Where is my data anyway? Our speakers will guide you through the digital jungle to the right answers for you.

  • Excel Basic course (4 h)

For newcomers. Or individually tailored to your task. On request with basics in macro programming.

  • Power Point Basic course (4 h)

How do I quickly and efficiently create a cool presentation to convince my customers? Competently present the facts and surprise with an animation. Suitable for users with little or no previous knowledge.

  • Basic course HTML (8 h)

The maintenance and creation of websites has become an established part of everyday office life and can be learned even by employees without in-depth IT knowledge. The course offers a compact introduction to the HTML programming required for this and is accompanied by practical exercises. The basic structure of HTML is explained in this course. This includes getting to know the various HTML elements and reading and structuring the HTML basic framework. A further focus is on the creation of hyperlinks to internal and external sources, the insertion of image formats and the structure of tables. With the acquired knowledge, the first own website can already be created or edited. Special previous knowledge is not required.

Robot training with ease

The TeachCell is your training cell in the field of robotics & plant automation for trade and industry. It is designed for education and training to learn practical skills in the field of automation and is aimed at schools and company training institutions. The handling of technically demanding and evolving technology products is becoming more and more important. Against this background, we have developed a modular concept that can be expanded with further technologies as required. Students can learn about the interrelationships of automation in connection with robotics at the cell. At the industrial elements the acquired skills can be transferred into practice.
